Sweeny Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Postby ejm » Thu Jan 24, 2008 1:32 pm

Saw this at the weekend and thought it was fantastic. Completely different to anything I have seen before. Gory but not scary and funny in places. All the cast were fab, but Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were fantastic.

It won't be for everybody, it's completely unique, but give it a try

Hi ejm, thanks for the heads up. The trailer looks great and I am a big JD fan!! Am so looking forward to seeing this, but I'll probably wait for it to be released on dvd, not a great cinema lover.

I'm really excited about this film. I love the sondehiem musical, especially the Meat pie song. Does that feature?
Diary of a Naive woman Aged 39 and 3/4 is a work of fiction, well maybe one character is real!

i just cannot believe that once again ( the gorgeous mr depp) is going to miss out on an oscar :(

he should have got one for the jack sparrow character in the first pirates film, but sadly he will be beaten this time by day-lewis :(

Yes, I think so. I haven't seen the musical but I know a couple of songs were left out of the film, but I believe the meat pie one is in it.

Blim - agree with you re the oscar.
