Sorry if this has been mentioned before but Clarence has said that none of the Tapas 7 had watches or mobile phones. The odds of this in my view are 1 in a thousand. I would say that most of the 7 would have a watch and half would have a mobile with them.

I dont believe him!

More desperate lies! He will get an award in journalism definitely after this and get his government job back, Mr Broon needs men like this.

Does anyone knows what's meant with: 'Changing clothes durung the Tappas dinner' - never heard before this.

Wasn't O'Brien (?) supposed to have changed his clothes after he "tended to his sick daughter"
I think he came back with different trousers on. (Standard disclaimer that I am remembering things that some guy said on a forum one time...)

If they didn't have watches - how on earth could they say they checked every half hour. How would they be supposed to know when they checked. I've also never known anyone who took a mobile phone on holiday and then went out without it. And would you ever leave your watch and mobile phone in your apartment and the door unlocked?

Nobody believes him, Howard, so you're in good company. :)

There's a thread about it here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4149&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Just more spin, they think the public are dim enough to swallow anything, but all they do is show up their own lack of intelligence. Anyway, the PJ are the ones they'll have to convince about this strange behaviour. Wonder if they'll say something like this: 'We all took off our watches and left them and our mobile phones in the apartments. We locked them away in a cupboard for safety, in case someone came in and took them. They're valuable, you know ...'

Completely loopy, the lot of them, IMO.

I would agree.
Mind you, they left their children in an unlocked apartment supposedly, so what are watches and mobles compared to that?
The charade must go on.

Of course they had mobiles and watches! Gerry sent how many texts, alledgedly, that night? All phones display the time. And there was all the talk about people seeing people at certain times, and arriving at dinner at certain times, it's laughable, to now come up with this. If this is the best Clarrie can come up with, then hopefully justice will be achieved for little Madeleine.

Interesting to hear the Pink Pimp spouting his pink spin, just before the arrival of the PJ and the Tapas 7 interviews, in terms of Team McCann being "bullish"!

To me, our Paypal sounds like a trader on the stock market and everyone knows what goes up, must also go down. Just look at the movement on all the global stockmarkets since the beginning of the year!

PJ in the United Kingdom to confuse witnesses with new indices
Party Faro airport, the team of inspectors of the Judicial Police (PJ) Portuguese arrived this afternoon in the facilities of the police in Enderby (United Kingdom), where they held a meeting in preparation for interrogation of several witnesses linked directly or indirectly to Praia da Luz and disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Among the witnesses to be interviewed in the seven were friends of the couple McCann, best known by the nickname Tapas 7.

Following the letters rogatory sent by the Portuguese authorities, Paulo Rebelo, in charge of the investigation, claiming clarify several gaps and inconsistencies revealed by the initial interrogation of the group, but also confused with the new indices, with a particular interest in an exchange of clothes during the dinner at Tapas Bar, the restaurant within the Ocean Club.

Despite the difficulty of their task, compromised by the revelation of the contents of the letters rogatory as well as a portion of the investigation file, which was in the hands of the British authorities, the inspectors are seeking to consolidate their investigations or, let us remember, arguidos cited three: Robert Murat, Gerald (Gerry) McCann and his wife Kate.

Inspectors from the PJ had been agreed to conduct themselves in interviews but can, apart from letters of request, and suggest other issues, even though the final decision rests with their colleagues from Leicester.

According to the explanation of a spokesman for the British police, the witnesses will not be accompanied by their lawyers, but are entitled to abandon the interrogation when they want. The same spokesman has confirmed that the interrogations had indeed been approached officially by the Portuguese authorities, thus thwarting speculation Clarence Mitchell had stated that a portion of the press that McCann had asked themselves this approach.

Kate and Gerry McCann, arguidos (suspects) in the investigation of the Judicial Police in the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, have the right to suggest to witnesses, they did indicate a list of names, including those of Justine McGuiness and Clarence Mitchell. The two experts were not in Praia da Luz on the night of the disappearance of Madeleine but the couple claimed they can attest to their innocence.

The 7 members of the group of Tapas Bar that the public knows

Dr Matthew Oldfield and his wife Rachael: Matthew met with Gerry McCann at Leicester where they have worked together. Aged 37 years, Matthew is endocrinologist at Kingston Hospital in Surrey. His wife Rachael, a year younger, is a consultant. They have a daughter of two years.

Dr Russell O'Brien and his companion Jane Tanner: At the time of the disappearance they lived in Exeter. He has 36 years and 37. Russel is currently working at the University of Plymouth, more precisely at the Peninsula Medical School. They have two children, the oldest of 4 years.

They are once again the focus of attention. Dr Russell is the one who was absent for the longest time, Tapas Bar and the first couple's responses to questioning by the police Portuguese revealed several inconsistencies. Jane Tanner says he saw a man carrying a child, but his testimony was deemed suspicious because two independent witnesses to the group, in the same venue, said they had seen anyone.

His testimony about the alleged suspect, changed repeatedly.

Dr. David Payne is married to Dr. Fiona Payne: David, aged 41 and is a friend of the University of Leicester in Cardiovascular Science. His wife is aged 34 years and is also a physician.

As a group, David is the only one, except for parents, claim to have seen Madeleine alive to 18.30.

During their stay in Praia da Luz, the couple was accompanied by Fiona's mother, Dianne Webster, the ninth member of the group to which the din├® Tapas Bar.
The phone and email intercepts, as I understand it, are almost enough on their own. But I have always been told that even this is NOT the standalone evidence. CW.

Often in bars like that they have a TV playing Skye or BBC news (unless there's football on) but its always a way of finding out the time.

Quite right..the only place to my knowledge where you never find out the time unless you carry your own time-piece are American casinos....for they want you to carry on playing oblivious to
time.so no clocks on the wall..and no windows allowing sunset/rise to give you a clue

Agree, also as Kate's Dad is obviously not well, Gerry's Mum elderly i can't believe they were without watches or phones.
Relatives at home might have wanted to contact them.
Mind you they didn't seem to bother much about their kids so relatives might have been out of sight out of mind.

Do we know anything about what has been happening today?

Did JT and ROB have to go back in this morning, or is it the Paynes that are being heard today as originally scheduled?

Blacksmith posted that they were questioned for ten hours yesterday, hardly routine is it as Clarrie implied.
