Many thanks for your suggestions, Luz. This is the meaning that I know, Luz. I have gone ahead and added the term, along with Metodo£.

Sorry you can't find your other monetary characters on your new laptop. Have you tried looking in Symbols under INSERT in your Word program?

I have added that definition to the Doing a McCann, weissnicht. As a result, it now has three meanings: leaving hurriedly after being declared arguidos; telling lies; and leaving young children unattended!

Yes, weissnicht, I did try to say it ten times and it is one of those impossible combinations. A real tongue-twister!

I'll go ahead an add the term to the Glossary. Many thanks!

Hawkeyes - can you add:

Psyops: Psychological Operations (PSYOP, PSYOPS), are techniques used by military and police forces to influence a target audience's emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and behaviour.

This used to be a favourite of many conspiracy theorists on MF and elsewhere.

For some strange reason this is the first time I have clicked on this thread. All I can say is Wow. I was so impressed by the list I flipped to the end to post. I will now go back and read it properly. Well done Hawkeyes.

Many thanks for your suggestion, Gatinho. I have made two entries as:

PSYOPS = Psychological Operations
Psychological Operations = Techniques used by the military and police to influence a target audience's emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and behaviour

Many thanks for your kind comments, madison. I am glad you have finally found this thread and hope that you will find it useful for reference.

It has certainly been fun pulling the glossary together and coming up with short, pithy definitions (because of the 60,000-character space limitations). I am especially grateful to all those who have contributed or have offered their suggestions.

Hi Hawkeyes

Meant to say sooner, I think the McMansion is at 5 The Crescent (rather than no.3). There is certainly a record of sale of a Queniborough property, and purchase of 5 The Crescent, Rothley, on the same date in January 2006, as revealed to all and sundry 8) by good ol' http://www.houseprices.co.uk (as well as a bit of an eye opener at how much more they paid for their Lego house than the neighbours did).

Many thanks, amandine, for getting in touch over the McMansion. 3 The Crescent was taken from a newspaper article some time ago. I have just checked it out on your site and have compared the two properties and the dates last sold, and it definitely sounds as though it should be 5 The Crescent from the purchase date and not 3 The Crescent.

What is even more shocking is how much that property price went up between 28/03/2002 and 20/01/2006, if the prices on that site are correct. The previous owner of #5 purchased the property on 28/03/2002 for £60,000 and sold it on 20/01/2006 for £459,950; while the previous owner of #3 purchased that property on 25/06/2002 for £244,950 and sold it on 27/02/2004 for £325,000.
