And I'll bet that somewhere the handsome, charcoal grey, white topped, special Wolfburg edition of the VW Cabriolet is still going strong -being a VW.

I am sure it is, jeangenie, and probably owned by high-school or college student.

I loved my Cabriolet. I had it for fifteen years and finally sold it, when I began to feel unsafe with no air-bags and all of those SUVs on the road! Also on one of my trips from Northern New England to Florida, I got caught in monsoon-like torrential rains crossing the Tamiami Trail and my car filled up with several inches of water. I ended up bailing out the water as though I was on a leaking boat.

The moon-roof on the New Beetle is good substitute for the open-top of the Cabriolet. You can still get fresh air and feel the sun beating down, when you don't want sit in air-conditioning comfort in the summer months!

My son had a Ford Cabriolet for about 6 months - wonderful car- but who in their right mind would buy a cab, in February, in Manchester? Still he loved it - 'babe magnet' he called it!
Driving down the East Lancs Road to Knowsley Safari Park was about as exotic a journey as he made in it - then chickened out at the last minute as he didn't want the baboons to wreck the roof.
The insurance cost as much as the car did.

My current favourite is this..

Had a 145 cloverleaf (till I killed it) which was just the bestest fun ever. Currently driving a Saab 95. (also quite like the alfa Brera).
Thanking God every day that my children are being raised by a Nutter..

My fave car was my shogun v6. I also like the Toyota Rav and am in the process of looking for one of these.

My favourite car was an Asten martin. My husband sold it for £1000 three months before they went bankcrupt. I divorced him shortly after. I only drive rubbish now. After an Asten you can only go down if you wish to retain any credibility.

You want to e-mail that one to Top Gear, nbrado! I can see the Stig doing the circuit in this!

I can't drive but am going to start driving lessons again VERY soon (be afraid, anyone who lives in Essex or Suffolk!) I'll be driving a Toyota Prius when I pass my test, but I love the Rover 75 because it's so PRETTY (don't tell Clarkson though!). I also love Mercedes and Jags. And 2CVs.
Listen very carefully, I will say this only once: LEAVING SMALL CHILDREN ALONE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES IS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR!!

My other favorite car was Citron 2cv or as it is known in the UK "Dolly"
I loved it to bits and so did my children. I would love to own one again
but we would have to live in a warmer climate like the UK. It is to
cold here in Iceland. But what a fun it was to be the owner of one for
a year:love4:
Currently I am driving a Ford Escape.

i still love my very first car, i saved for 2 years to get her and she was .... a MG midget, the insurance was excessive ( i was 19) only down side she was poo brown in colour  but i loved her anyway.

i was gutted when i came home one day to find that my parents had sold her secretly and bought me a brand new fiesta :(
