This is not good. I have just logged in 3 times, and each time been told that the Board is disabled and to go to http://www.the3rguidos.net which i what I am doing. Are these problems going to come right soon? :(

Everything working AOK for me this morning. The Address Bar is finally showing 3as.madeleinemccann.org again, with a four leafed clover on it - pretty.

Many thanks all you Mods and Admin for your hard work. Just takes patience (which is a virtue so I am led to believe).

Award yourselves a well earned drinky.

Thanks. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I pinged 3as.madeleinemccann.org as to verify what was the ip for it. 3as.madeleinemccann.org is the domain name (dn) which is related to the ip that I found, but I guess that bjr is not getting the same ip.

From what I could gather, the "problem" was related to the server change: the name remains the same, but as the server was changed the name should refer to the new ip. So what was happening yesterday was that when we were asking access to 3as.madeleinemccann.org, the dns would look and find the old ip, that no longer was related to the the name... therefore the strange messages we were getting besides being logget out.

At first I thought we were being redirected so I confess that I panicked a bit, but in reality the old ip, as much as the new one and the dn were in a sort of limbo till the dn could be updated and would start referring to the new ip. I have no experience whatsoever in server changes, but anyway I should have understood the problem in a correct way, it's not that difficult in theoretical terms

I have not been able to get on the board this morning. Just keep getting the 'log on to the 3 arguidos and log on' message!! Sometimes manage to get index page, but then when I click to Maddie forum get message this topic is disabled!! Made me think there is sabotage going on somewhere?

Hope these problems can be sorted.....something is not right somewhere. For the last few days, whenever I post I get logged out, and when trying to log in get the 'log on to 3 arguidos message, and the whole performance starts all over again!

Just thought I'd better mention that for some reason I can't log in on my Macbook, but can using my husband's pc. I thought at first Safari was where the problem was, but I couldn't log in using Firefox on the Mac either. Yet here I am using Firefox on the pc without any problems. Any thoughts as to why this should be?

PS I just see the IP on my Mac.

its really simple let me explain.

The DNS of the internet is like a big telephone book.

Image

our number had changed.

The book is updated twice daily.

It can take 24 hours for everyone to update around the world to our new number (IP address)

Nothing to be paranoid about or to suspect sabotage its just normal practice when moving servers that there is some disruption for about a day or so.

Are both computers sharing the same line (using a hub)? Do you have access to other internet sites using the mac? Maybe you should try emptying the mac's cache...
