Sorry Sina I didn't follow up on this thread sooner. Apologies!! Wanted to also recommend VideoLAN player. It's awesome! Here is the link for MAC:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html

Try that, Sina. It should work with all types of media.

Anyone else needing a wide ranging media player VLC is the one!

Thanks Moe! I've got VLC (I think I have everything installed but dunno how to use it.. )

So BBC tells me that I am missing something (no clue what) and whether I want to open the clip in stand-alone player..... and then the damn thing ALWAYS opens in window media player - and I get the error message :banghead:

Suppose I have to change my puters settings somewhere re preferred media player, correcto??? :toothy4:

BBC news clips only offer Real Player or Windows Media Player as standalone options, unfortunately. The only thing I can think to do, is change your settings in your computer to have VLC handle all media by default, and maybe then you can trick the BBC site into opening VLC as your standalone player.
I am not experienced with Macs, sorry, so I can't tell you exactly step by step how to change your default media settings.
You can probably find the info online though.
Good Luck!
