Hi! Can anyone help me please... I always used to be able to play web videos whenever... but now suddenly it's impossible. My PC makes a strange popping noise and that's it, no video of whatever shape or form. No idea what it is myself and VERY frustrating.. any ideas? I would be soooooooooooo grateful....

Thanks,

Tas

Tas try uploading the adobe flash 9player. That might be why you're not getting any moving images. If that fails how old is your computer hard drive? Could be due an update.

I have no idea on how to search for videos. I notice some are on newspaper or tv websites and others are on youtube (I'm not at all familiar with Youtube). Can someone please guide me on how to (a) search for videos and (b) insert them like a picture ready to be played as some posters do. Also, an indication on how to download videos, would also be appreciated, but not really important as the first two questions.

Thanks

Your favourite search engine will probably have something that will allow you to search for videos.

Here's Google's http://video.google.co.uk/?hl=en&tab=wv
and Yahoo's http://video.search.yahoo.com/
and Ask's http://uk.ask.com/?q=&search=&dm=all&qsrc=0&o=312&l=dir&siteid=&tool=vid

If you find a YouTube video you want to link to, copy the url, click the YouTube button when you're writing a post, and paste the url between the {youtube}{/youtube} tags.

And here's one I shot of Frank Schaap, busking in Heidelberg, playing Ain't Misbehavin'.

Reggie Dunlop: thank you for your help and links. :)

So far I have these links (not the best videos, but that's where I'm focused, the earliest videos of the Madeleine McCann case):
http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid ... 99&bbcws=1
http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid ... 27&bbcws=1

I'll continue searching and trying to learn my way around videos.

Could you explain a little more Tas? It could be a driver, or hardware. Just a bit more detail? Thanks.
