SPECIAL COCKTAIL

ZEN DAWN
20ml gin
15ml cherry brandy
Dash lemon juice
75ml Rubicon Lychee juice drink

HOW TO MAKE IT
Build over crushed ice in a highball glass
Garnish with lychees

THE VERDICT
Have company coming over and all you have in the fridge is some Rubicon juice? Impress your mates by whipping up this easy lychee cocktail. Your pals will think you've been slaving in the kitchen all day.
To my critics
When I'm in a sober mood, I worry, work and think,
When I'm in a drunken mood, I gamble, play and drink,
But when my moods are over and my time has come to pass,
I hope I'm buried upside down, so the world may kiss my ar*e

THE ORIGINAL CUERVO MARGARITA
The Margarita cocktail was created in 1938 in honour of a beautiful Mexican showgirl named Rita de la Rosa. A bartender improvised a cocktail to capture her heart with Cuervo tequila and the flavour of Mexican limones.

Ingredients:
1 part Jose Cuervo Tequila
3 parts Cuervo Margarita Mix*
1/2 cup of Crushed Ice
Slices of Lime
Salt for the Rim of the Glass

*If you cannot find a good Margarita mix, you can always make your own with lots of freshly-squeezed limes in a sugar solution.

Method:
Put the tequila, Margarita mix, and the crushed ice into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.
Salt the rim of of a tequila glass (or an old-fashioned "open" type of Champagne glass).
Put two or three small ice-cubes into the glass.
Pour tequila, Margarita mix, and the crushed ice into the glass (over the ice cubes to serve on the rocks).
Take a slice of lime and cut 1/2 to the center, and using the " cut slit" attach it to the side of the glass (or if you prefer, just float the slice of lime in your drink).

Alternative Method:
If you do not have a cocktail shaker, you can always use a blender to whip up the tequila, Margarita mix, and ice.

Note:
I often skip the salt on the rim of the glass, although it is decorative, especially with that slice of lime. A very refreshing drink before dinner on a hot summer's day.
