Tracing official documents ~ Can you help please?

If you have problems then perhaps one of the members might have a suggestion or tell you how they coped with a certain situation. Also we could post links for all children that are missing and need to be found. All aspects of child welfare discussed here, new and old cases. Children that have been let down by Social Services and the authorities.

Tracing official documents ~ Can you help please?

Postby Aresa » Mon May 05, 2008 3:24 pm

I know that in other threads there have been discussions about registration of births etc.

Can anyone help me, I am wanting to find out details of a stillborn child. I know the parents, and an approximate year of 1948.

Does anyone know of if it is possible, and if so, how I can trace it to get the exact date?

Many thanks.

if the baby was born in hospital, and you know which one, try the relevant Health Authority - most have policies on helping in such cases if at all possible

This link may help

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/stillbirths/index.asp

but I believe the stillbirth register wasn't about then, so there may be no trace.
