Pet Insurance for Guinea Pigs???

Postby xxdelly » Tue Apr 08, 2008 6:44 pm

Our little piggie, Pickle got her leg stuck in the hay container today which has resulted in a broken leg.

After a nerve wracking, nailbiting time at the vets :confused2: :confused2: they've kept her overnight and are operating and setting in the morning.

It's costing £100 (at least)...

We have two guinea pigs and I've never thought about getting pet insurance for them, but if the vet bills are going to be this high, then I think it might be a good idea.

Can anybody advise or point me in the right direction? I've found just one online, the rest all do cats and dogs. Does anybody have their pigs insured already?

Your advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Before I left UK I tried to get insurance for my pet ferrets. There was only one company then that covered exotics(?) but I don't recall who they were or exactly what they covered.

I don't know where you live but there is an exotics animal hospital in Swindon that may be able to help you with advise to exotics insurance.

Good luck
